Veneers

When to consider Veneers:

Veneers are a Cosmetic Restoration that afford patients the opportunity to restore their teeth to an appearance enjoyed before their teeth suffered severe discoloration or physical damage such as being chipped.  Veneers can also visually restore teeth that are slightly crooked or that naturally appear misshapened.

Veneers also offer a smile makeover for persons who desire a more complete Cosmetic Restoration, particularly persons whose visual presentation is a substantial element of their work or life: salespersons, persons in various service industries, persons in the entertainment industry, and politicians.

Veneers:

Porcelain veneers are extremely thin casings of ceramic that are bonded to the front of the patient's tooth to create a new smile. Porcelain veneers are only placed over the front teeth with close attention to the design and general structure of the surrounding teeth to maintain a continuity and overall natural look.  As with all Restorative Work it will not last forever, but with proper care will provide a long term Cosmetic Restoration.

Restoration or Enhancement by Veneers:

The restoration or enhancement by Veneers is unique as it is not as simplistic as a basic restoration nor is it as involved as more substantial restorations that involve removal of decay, shaping of a tooth or teeth, impressions, and lab work.  This being said the Veneer process includes almost all of the aforementioned elements of other restorations, but to a lesser extent and without the necessity to remove decay or like problems.

The Veneer procedure begins with preparing the tooth or teeth being treated by removing the discolored or damaged portions of the tooth and carefully shaping the tooth for receiving the Veneer.  After the tooth or teeth have been prepared an impression is taken and sent to the lab for the customized crafting of the Veneers.  As with other restorations temporaries of a like nature to the final work are placed on the tooth or teeth to maintain a healthy appearance and general function of the teeth until the final restorations are permanently seated.

When the customized Veneers are received from the lab a second and final appointment is set up and the Veneers are permanently bonded to the treated tooth or teeth and thereby complete the Cosmetic and Restorative Veneer Treatment. The results are a complete Cosmetic Restoration and a beautiful smile
